Frequently asked questions

Does it work without an Internet connection?
Yes. TakumiPOS works with and without Internet: payment, order creation and the catalog stay operational offline, and everything syncs automatically when you reconnect.
Where is my data stored?
On your own machine. TakumiPOS installs a portable PostgreSQL database; you don't need to set up any separate server and your data doesn't depend on the cloud. Backups are managed from Settings.
What do I need to install it?
Windows 10 or 11, 4 GB of RAM (8 recommended), and about 500 MB of disk space. The .exe installer is digitally signed and includes everything; a wizard guides you through 4 steps.
Does it work for restaurants and shops?
Yes. It has a Restaurant mode (tables, kitchen, orders) and a Services mode (appointments, professionals, schedule), in addition to counter retail. The interface adapts itself to the chosen mode.
Is it compatible with my printer and hardware?
Most likely. Thermal printers 58/80 mm (ESC/POS via USB, network or serial), cash drawer, scales and barcode scanners.
Can I use multiple terminals and devices?
Yes. Several terminals over the same stock and customers, plus a kitchen display (KDS), order-taker (PDA) and customer display connected over the local network.
How does the license work?
The license is validated per device (HWID) with a 7-day offline tolerance. Purchasing, payments and downloads are managed from this web platform.
